LUMA Board of Directors calls new Urban Mission Strategist
Rev. Dr. Jorge Groh has been called and accepted the Urban Mission Strategist postion to lead LUMA. We rejoice in this wonderful gift of God to LUMA and celebrate the great blessing this will bring to us and then to all within our ministry reach in Kansas City!
Rev. Groh, who is presently living in Ottawa, Canada, most recently served the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as the Area Coordinator for World Missions in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. He also has served the Lutheran Church as a mission developer, seminary professor, and president (in Argentina), parish pastor, conference speaker, and author. He and his wife Olga, a psychologist who also has worked for Synod's Department of Human Care, have three grown daughters.
Because the immigration process takes some time, Rev. Groh will not be able to join us immediately. When the immigration process completes, we will announce his formal installation. We rejoice that President Mirly, Missouri District, and President Kohlmeier, Kansas District will conduct the ceremony.
We invite your prayers of thanksgiving for this great news, and welcome your warm and lasting support and friendship for the Grohs. They are anxious to be in our midst, make new friends, and work with all 45-area LCMS together congregations to further God's kingdom through the ministry of the Lutheran Urban Mission Agency!

The Food Pantry operates in the LUMA Ministry Center at 3007 Mercier Street, KC MO. Please deliver donations there.
